Fear, Plots, and Faith
Have you ever been afraid? I am talking about really afraid, like how Jeremiah was when he was left in a cistern to die. Have you ever felt like people just left you to die? What a tragic thought right, but isn’t that what happens when a person justifies hate crimes, discrimination, and crimes against women? We are living in a world that seems to reward corruption and silence truth. Where does that leave those of us who strive to do good? Who stands by our sides to encourage, inspire, and motivate us to continue? (Help is always near.)
You came near when I called you,
and you said, “Do not fear.”
O Lord, you took up my case;
you redeemed my life. —Lamentations 3:57-58
In times when fear attempts to creep into my spirit and breathing becomes a conscious intention, I call out to the Lord. I did not always, but an interesting thing happened. I gained clarity concerning my gifts and talents. My level of discernment increased and I gained respect for spiritual warfare.
In times past, I overlooked the fact that people will plot against you. Truth is, they will. They will plot to kill your positive vibe, to kill your dreams, to kill your essence. Newton’s third law of motion says, “Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.” They will plot; You continue to plow. Storms will come; Continue to pray. Trust in the Lord, your Redeemer.
